TITLE: Official Description Change: Unsigned Iowa 960, Page County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 960 begins on the east corporation line of the City of Clarinda and travels easterly and southeasterly to a junction with Iowa 2 approximately two miles east of Clarinda.

Due to a transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑960‑0 (l) ‑‑2M‑87 between Page County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved March 19, 1980, that portion of Unsigned Iowa 960 from the east corporation line of Clarinda easterly and southeasterly to a junction with Iowa 2 near the S ¼ Corner Section 33‑T69N‑R36W should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Page County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of Unsigned Iowa 960 in Page County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove unsigned Iowa 960 in Page County as follows:

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Clarinda connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly through Section 32‑T69N‑R36W to a point (junction US 71) approximately 500 feet west and 1000 feet south of the NE Corner Section 32‑T69N‑R36W; thence in an easterly direction through Sections 32 and 33-T69N‑R36W to a point near the center of the NW ¼ of Section 33‑T69N‑R36W; thence in a general southeasterly direction through Section 33‑T69N‑R36W to a point (junction Iowa 2) near the S ¼ Corner Section 33‑T69N‑R36W.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, unsigned Iowa 960 in Page County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Unsigned Iowa 960 begins on the east corporation line of the City of Clarinda and travels easterly and southeasterly approximately one mile to a junction with Iowa 2 in Page County, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate unsigned Iowa 960 in Page County as follows:

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Clarinda connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly through Section 32‑T69N‑R36W to a point (junction US 71) approximately 500 feet west and 1000 feet south of the NE Corner Section 32‑T69N‑R36W; thence in an easterly direction through Sections 32 and 33‑T69N‑R36W to a point near the center of the NW ¼ of Section 33‑T69N‑R36W thence in a general southeasterly direction through Section 33‑T69N‑R36W to a point (junction Iowa 2) near the S ¼ Corner Section 33‑T69N‑R36W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of unsigned Iowa 960 in Page County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
